There are many software tools available but we do not recommend any one because 1) choice of a tool(s) depends on your company’s particular requirements 2) the RMI strives to be independent so as to provide an avenue to all RM’s with no bias of any kind. If you go back to your RMCP binder from class, there is also some great advice on PSA/ PPM Technology and what kinds of functions to look for in a tool. Our parent company RTMC also offers consulting services to help you not only pick the right tool for your company but can also provide services to help you to implement it.RTMC has experience with most of the popular resource management tools and can help you better align your tool choice with your company’s requirements. Let us know if you need a contact there.
Does anyone in the community have experience with Project Online as a resource capacity management tool? While recognizing tool selection is dependent on company specific requirements, I am interested in its effectiveness in facilitating skills inventory, staffing, and forecasting processes (as described by the RMCP handbook). Thanks!
