New research survey provides valuable benchmark information for Professional and Consulting Services, Enterprise/IT Services, and Product Development Organizations
Cincinnati, May 15, 2019: The Resource Management Institute, dedicated to the advancement of resource and workforce management thought leadership, has released the results of its latest survey examining the role of the Resource Management Office (RMO). Results from Professional/Consulting services, Enterprise/IT services, and Product Development organizations show that industry adoption of the RMO concept continues to accelerate.
The creation of a Resource Management Office, an RMI recommended best practice, is clearly gaining momentum in Professional/Consulting services with more than two-thirds of survey respondents saying they utilize one. Acceptance is growing in Enterprise/IT services as well with research showing half of those organizations now using an RMO and the trend continues with Product Development organizations where nearly 60% of respondents report they have adopted the RMO concept.
“RMO responsibilities are evolving quickly but there still remains too much focus on the (necessary) administrative tasks best suited to an RMO, and not enough focus on the strategic value the RMO can bring to any enterprise when it comes to supply and demand planning, skills development, and employee engagement,” said RMI Managing Director Randy Mysliviec. “The Resource Management Institute will continue working to accelerate this needed evolution of the RMO in all industry domains.”
This topic and other resource and workforce management issues will be addressed at the second annual Resource Management Global Symposium October 9th – 10th at the Renaissance Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
A tightening labor market, in addition to continued pressure for delivering high quality and cost-effective services and products, make getting the right person with the right skills in the right place at the right time essential. Resource management professionals can join the conference to learn both fundamentals and advanced practices in Resource Management, collaborate with industry peers, RM process experts and service automation technology providers, and innovate with the very latest in RM research, best practices and technology.
