The Symposium brought together resource and workforce management professionals from around the globe to collaborate with their peers and industry experts
Cincinnati, October 22, 2018: The Resource Management Institute, dedicated to the advancement of resource and workforce management thought leadership, has concluded their inaugural Resource Management Global Symposium. The theme of the Symposium was “Learn. Collaborate. Innovate.” Resource and workforce management practitioners from around the globe gathered together to learn new approaches, collaborate with their peers and industry experts, and innovate with the very latest in resource management research and best practices through several keynotes, panel sessions, and breakout meetings.
RMI Managing Director Randy Mysliviec kicked off the symposium with the keynote on the “State of Resource Management”. Covering the latest in resource management research and trends, the presentation addressed the challenges companies face in cost effectively managing human capital deployed for project-based work in Professional, Consulting, and Enterprise/IT services.
“This inaugural Symposium was designed to unite resource management practitioners from around the world and provide them the opportunity to access and leverage a knowledge base of resource management experts from the Professional, Consulting, and Enterprise/IT industries,” said Randy Mysliviec, RMI managing director. “Through hosting this Symposium, we hope to demonstrate the RMI’s ongoing commitment to provide these industries a vehicle to advance the discipline of resource management, and further the interests of the people who make up the resource management community and the companies they work for.”
Over the course of the event, Symposium attendees heard from a variety of speakers covering topics that included capacity planning, agile and its implications for resource management, managing resource utilization, optimizing software solutions for resource management, building an effective skills database and key developments to watch for around the future of resource management.
